How I Keep Up with News Without Getting Down
Whether it is TV or radio all you find is people focusing on the worst of the worst. It is like going to a water-boarding demonstration for fun. Why would anybody do it!
I am actually well informed when it comes to the news. I just try a different approach. I am a popper. I pop on to sites like Huffingtonpost.com and scan through the news. By going to your favorite news sites instead of TV or radio, it allows you to catch the important worldly news without having to listen to endless negative banter. You choose what to dig deeper into. I find myself naturally gravitating to positive stories this way. If we all focus on the good news our collective consciousness will manifest more good news for the world. That is why I started www.postitvenewspost.com. I personally dig through all the good news sites and post positive stories from around the world. Seriously.. do we need to know that some family was killed across the country? It only brings you down. If we all avoid this type of news it will happen less. Focusing on bad creates bad. If anyone would like to become a contributor for positivenewspost.com please contact me. I cant post enough to build the readership.. I need help!
Mindful Facebookinginging
With Japan being hit with such a traumatic crisis we all need to do our part to help the global consciousness heal. One simple way is to utilize your Facebook accounts to simply spread hope and charity. One simple way is to post on your status how easy it is to donate $10 to the Red Cross for this event.
Just text REDCROSS to 90999 to donate $10. It is like skipping a lunch. Every good deed has its selfish aspects. It makes you feel good and what you give is what you get. If you hoard all your money no one will give you more. It is the law of reflection. What you show to the mirror is what you will see back. Don’t feel bad for doing good for the world and yourself at the same time.
Mindful working is easier when kids are out of the house!
So, my home office is located in the upstairs loft. Lots of space and room for a nice desk and all. The problem is there are no walls or forcefields to shield me from photon kids. My kids are beautiful and wonderful people, but they are under the age of 3. That means I am in a 3D movie with surround sound all day long. While I like action movies, this one is like watching a movie while using my laptop, while driving and texting at the same time! Good times, good times. The staircase is like a vortex of glorious child winning and crying.
When my wife takes the kids out of the house it is like angels and soft puppies have come to me with focusing powers to share. It is great, my mind clears, the balance is back and work just happens.
I do have advice for those of you in my same situation. If the kids are loud and it is hard to work, take multiple breaks and work in stints. Do not force yourself to work in chaos. You will just build stress and get tired. Oh, and don’t think that you have to do all your work when kids are down for naps or it is nighttime and they are out. That is not a life, that is a prison. You have to do your work in bursts of say 30 minutes at time. Trust me, you will become as productive as you need to be. You will manifest the most ideal situation for yourself if you want it.
What is MindfulRants.com
This site is dedicated to “rants” on mindfulness and enlightenment. My name is David Bernstein and I am a husband, father and business owner. I started this site so I can share my views and experiences with striving towards a mindful life. I hope to be able to have guests post and share their experiences as well.
My posts may be poorly written at times, they will most definitely have poor grammar, but they will be honest and open.
Let your mind be open and balanced!
